RRB Encourages Rural Economic Growth

IBPS conducts RRB exams for various posts, including RRB assistants and officers, annually for various Regional Rural Banks located across the country. Exams for RRB posts are conducted nationwide for officer posts. Every RRB is entitled to carry banking services as per the Banking Regulation Act and other activities u/s 6(1) of the said act. The primary objective is to provide loans and advances to marginal farmers, agricultural laborers, to cooperative societies involved in agricultural, dairy production and marketing. Small entrepreneurs, artisans, and small traders can also avail of financial assistance from RRBs within its jurisdiction.
Bachelor’s degree mandatory
IBPS RRB PO notification 2022 is published to recruit office assistants (clerks) and Officers grade I, II and III in various regional rural banks across the states. In the official notification, you will find exam dates, centers, application link, fee, syllabus, eligibility criteria and other parameters. To apply for agricultural officer grade I, you must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before 1st January 1962, with the plan to reside permanently in India. You must be between the age of twenty to thirty with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy technology, forestry, biotechnology or agriculture engineering.
Agricultural officer
As an agricultural officer, you have to inspect before sanction and disbursement of the loan and follow procedures for recovery of the loan. With discussion with gram panchayats, you have to promote, disburse and spread out loan products of the banks to encourage rural business and growth. You need to share reports and take suggestions from higher authorities such as RBI, RRBs, and NABARD to expand revenue and loan instruments. The exam for the agricultural officer is conducted in three phases; prelim, mains and interview. The prelim exam comprises three subjects; English language, reasoning and quantitative ability. The duration is two hours with one hundred fifty questions with a total score of one hundred twenty-five.
The main exam for Agricultural officer
After qualifying in the prelim, you have to appear in the main exam. The time allotted for this phase is forty-five minutes with objective questions. You can attempt the paper either in Hindi or English; the total number of questions is sixty, with a total mark of sixty. For an incorrect answer, 1/4th of the mark would be deducted, and this is applicable to both prelim and main exams.
Under priority sector
RBI has bought RRBs under priority sector at par with commercial banks, with instruction 40% of advances is allocated to priority sectors, 25% for weaker sections. State Bank of India is one of the major sponsors of regional rural banks, with thirty RRBs in thirteen states with over two thousand branches.
Fee for RRB PO
IBPS RRB PO notification 2022 furnishes information about the online application fee, which is INR 850 for general/OBC/EWS and INR 175 for SC/ST/PWD/DXS/XS. The exam is conducted in three phases, prelim, mains and interview. The duration of the prelim exam is forty-five minutes, with eighty questions on reasoning and quantitative aptitude. The duration of the main exam is two hours with two hundred questions on English, computer, general awareness, reasoning and quantitative aptitude.
