The quality of hot-melt powder for DTF printing on the market is uneven. So how do we choose suitable DTF hot melt powder for our business? In order to achieve the best transfer effect on different fabrics, we Sublistar has developed 5 different DTF hot melt powder to choose from, namely Soft DTF Powder, Rough DTF Powder, Anti-stretch DTF Powder, Anti-sublimation DTF powder and Breathable DTF powder.

    1. Difference Between 5 Kinds of DTF Hot Melt Powder

    • Soft DTF Hot Melt Powder

The most famous methods of printing on t-shirts encompass direct to garment, sublimation, screen printing and the trendy DTF printing. This DTF powder is soft and suitable for smooth surface fabrics like T-shirts.

    • Rough DTF Hot Melt Powder

Particle size 120-250um,easy to melt, after transfer, the hand feel is obvious. It is suitable for rough fabrics, such as denim, non-woven fabrics, and linen.

Denim is made from “Bean dye” with the warp threads closely included by using starch combined with indigo or sulphur dye. If you desire to print on it the solely technique you can use, is to use pigment print to cowl the dark coloration of denim.

    • Anti-stretch DTF Hot Melt Powder

This powder is very fine, easy to melt, the transfer finished product is stretch-resistant, suitable for stretch fabrics.

Most enterprise professionals agree that it poses much less of a project to print on extra inflexible fabrics, however stretchy fabric are very versatile, mainly when it comes to retail signage, silicon aspect graphics, backlight signs and symptoms and exchange exhibit booths. This hot melt powder is developed for elastic fabrics. The main advantage is that the transferred pattern is stretch-resistant.

    • Anti-sublimation DTF Hot Melt Powder

Using to block clothing colors or patterns that may be visible through transfer. easy to melt, Suitable for dark fabrics.

If it is a dark fabric, we recommend using this anti-sublimation powder, which can effectively prevent problems such as bottom penetration caused by sublimation during the transfer process.

    • Breathable DTF Hot Melt Powder

Breathable DTF powder provides a more breathable print with a smooth feel and softness.

Breathable DTF powder is fine and easy to melt. The finished product after transfer is breathable and suitable for all fabrics. Compared with normal DTF powder, the transfer printing has no gelatinous feeling, soft hand feeling, and more comfortable to wear!

    2. What Happens If Poor Quality Hot Melt Powder Is Used?

    • Uneven color, whitening distortion

The printed color is uneven, the color is inconsistent with the original image, and is seriously distorted.

    • Heat transfer effect is wet, with bubbles cracking and lamination

Affect the drying effect, the printed film will be wet, and bubbles and lamination will be generated between the pattern and the PET film.

    • Use inferior transfer film so the color is not firm and if wash will fade

It will affect the adhesion effect of the printed pattern, the transfer effect is not firm, it will crack after washing, and it can even be torn by hand.

Therefore, in order to avoid the above problems, we recommend that you choose the appropriate type of DTF powder according to your business. Every consumable in the DTF transfer process is extremely important to the result of the transfer. If the printer, ink and PET film affect the printed effect, then the quality of the powder affects the final effect of the finished product transferred to the fabric.
